Each one of us has been there already.
One wants to set up or change the TV settings
and then get confused already by the first attempts due to inconsistency and bad usability
of the interface. For this course, we had only one task. Redesign the interface of a TV
settings menu, so it would have a better usability and be adequate
for anyone to easily use and understand it.
Graphic elements show relationships, hierarchy, and emphasis visually. They are a crucial part of the prototyping/design process. It makes it easier for the whole team to be organised and work in a more productive way.
Style guides are important to set standards and rules, without it there is only chaos. It helped us stay focused on other essential matters, like the usability and the functionality of the interface. It also gave us a solid framework to use as starting point for our work.
